- Development in Domestic/Industrial Water and Wastewater Treatment; anti-fouling membrane and filtration systems (Design and fabrication of bioreactors; single/Multi activated sludge system; immobilized bioreactor system; membrane bioreactor system)

 

-Biological water treatment (Biological nitrification/denitrification of nitrogen compounds; effects of toxic compounds on biological nitrogen and carbon removal; bioaugmentation to enhance bioprocess performance; diagnosis of full-scale bioprocess)

 

-Understanding of the Molecular mechanisms of ammonia and nitrite oxidation by chemolithoautotrophic bacteria, in response to stressors and stimuli via molecular biology techniques (16S rRNA gene cloning; denaturant gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE); terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP); real time quantitative PCR (QPCR); Metagenomics, etc.)

 

-Mitigation of N2O gas emission from biological nitrogen removal processes
